On point

Summer passed so quickly - A highlight was a visit from Zoe Paris Carter and her mom Anushka, my friend since I made her costumes as lead actress in Ed Bowes film Picture Book in 2001. Zoe is a dancer who performs with the Pacific Northwest Ballet and was just back from a summer dancing in Amsterdam. She graciously modeled some clothes from my closet in my studio and the outside courtyard.

I have always loved the Commedia dell’arte charactors- especially the Harlequin

This Hermes print blouse went through a few iterations-from short sleeve dropped shoulder to long cuffed sleeve. The client owns horses and fell in love with the fabric..

I am continuing to play and experiment with fabric remnants leftover from other garments . They are too beautiful to throw away! I have made clothes out of remnant scraps for many years. I was inspired by Martin Margiela’s first collection where he showed frayed edges - now a mainstream fashion staple. I’ve lost the unfinished edges, but kept the scrap mentality. I like to think I’ve even transformed them into something elegant!
